How to Get the Most Out of these Commissioning Resources

Follow these steps to achieve commissioning excellence on your projects

There are 3 things required for successful commissioning…

People – Process – Tools

Only when these 3 things come together can projects achieve intended outcomes

Step 1 – Process

The Outcome Assurance Standard sets the governance at the beginning.

The Operational Readiness Standard sets the outcome to achieve at the end.

The Commissioning Standard is the bridge that connects the intention at the beginning to the outcome at the end.

All 3 standards are required – miss any one of them, and projects fail.

You can download the standards here.

Apply these standards to your projects for best-practices for delivering industrial plant process/energy systems.

Step 2 – People

Projects need great people in order to build great things – lots of smart people working as a team that can solve problems and overcome challenges.

Get certified on these processes to deliver outcomes. Learn more here.

Step 3 – Tools

Delivering project outcomes is complex – there are a lot of moving pieces and a lot of information to manage – you need digitalized tools since spreadsheets can’t keep up with the rapid pace of projects – spreadsheets are only for tracking and cannot function as your project management tool to manage your workflows, they cannot act as your work management system to assign and complete checklists and procedures, and they have no way to adapt to changes other than with brute-force effort (and things are always changing on projects).
