ICxA maintains a register of organizations that operate within defined roles supporting Outcome Assurance, commissioning, and operational readiness.

The ICxA Register of Organizations provides transparency regarding role alignment, governance boundaries, and capability positioning within Outcome Assurance–governed environments. It is intended to support informed decision-making by owners, regulators, and project governing bodies.

What Registration Means

Registration confirms that an organization has demonstrated alignment with ICxA role criteria within the Outcome Assurance framework.

Registration:

  • Clarifies what role an organization performs

  • Distinguishes advisory, assurance, and execution functions

  • Supports procurement and governance decisions

Registration does not:

  • Certify organizations

  • Approve or authorize outcomes

  • Replace owner or regulator accountability

ICxA registers roles and capabilities – not outcomes or decisions.

Categories of Organizational Recognition

ICxA distinguishes between advisory, assurance, and execution roles to preserve independence and outcome integrity.

Registered Advisory Provider

Role

Advises organizations on the design and implementation of Outcome Assurance–aligned frameworks and processes.

Domains

Outcome Assurance • Commissioning • Operational Readiness

Boundary

Advisory only – does not perform assurance or authorize outcomes.

Registered Outcome Assurance Provider

Role

Independently reviews outcome evidence and supports formal outcome assurance processes on behalf of owners or governing bodies.

Independence

Must be independent of advisory and execution roles.

Boundary

Assurance support only – does not transfer accountability.

Registered Commissioning Execution Provider

Role

Executes discipline-specific commissioning activities in accordance with applicable commissioning and assurance standards.

Focus

Evidence generation through system verification.

Boundary

Execution only – no governance, assurance, or outcome authorization.
