ICxA certifications are built on the Outcome Assurance Standards and validate the leadership capabilities required to assure successful completion of complex capital projects.
How Certification Works (Read This First)
ICxA certifications are awarded based on examination and verified experience – not course attendance.
Education programs are optional preparation tools, delivered by authorized education partners. Candidates may challenge any exam directly without completing an education program.
CxP – Certified Commissioning Professional
Purpose:
Validates foundational knowledge of system-readiness and system delivery principles.
Certification Requirements:

What it Signals:
You understand the fundamentals of outcome-focused system-readiness and are ready for project-level application.
CxL – Certified Commissioning Leader
Purpose:
Recognizes professionals capable of leading commissioning and operational readiness with accountability for system delivery.

What it Signals:

CxPM – Certified Commissioning Project Manager

Validates the leadership capacity to govern system-readiness and outcome assurance across complex capital projects.
