ICxA Evaluations assess professional experience, applied competence, and leadership capacity in delivering assured outcomes on complex projects.

Qualifications validate individuals have the foundational knowledge, evaluations validate real-world capability to apply that knowledge with demonstrated experience.

Experience valuations are based on structured evidence review, experience thresholds, and peer assessment aligned with ICxA standards.

Why Evaluations Exist

Evaluation Designations

Certified Commissioning Leader (CxL)

Recognizes professionals who have led system readiness and integration activities across complex projects.

Requirements include:

• Relevant professional experience of 5 years

• Demonstrated leadership responsibility

• Validated project history

• Successful completion of required qualification exams

• Peer validation

Signals: capability to lead execution-level completions, comissioning, and assurance disciplines.

Certified Commissioning Project Manager (CxPM)

Recognizes professionals who have governed commissioning and readiness across full project lifecycles.

Requirements include:

• Significant project leadership experience of 10 years

• Evidence of cross-functional outcome governance

• Successful completion of required qualification exams

• Peer validation

Signals: ability to lead outcome delivery at the project leadership level.

Certified Outcome Authority (OA)

Reserved for distinguished leaders who demonstrate exceptional governance-level outcome leadership.

This designation is awarded through structured evaluation and invitation.

Signals:

• Independent authority in outcome authorization

• Stewardship of assurance architecture

• Industry-level influence and credibility

Evaluation Process

Individuals with the required years of experience are invited to submit evidence for review.

Members have access to submit their experience for evaluation by the ICxA Board of Directors within the Pro Members Area.

The ICxA Professional Register

Professionals who successfully complete qualifications and evaluations are listed in the ICxA Professional Register, signifying verified competence and leadership capacity in Commissioning, Operational Readiness, and Outcome Assurance disciplines.
